Today’s assignment is to write something using a ‘Bizarre’ Writing style. I have picked commercial scripts. In 6th grade, we where assigned a country, and we had to make a cereal box based off it. I got Oman.
Commercial for Oman’s Oats
The scene opens with a kid coming down the stairs from his bedroom. He has bed head and is obviously very tired.
Cut scene to the kitchen. Boy opens the door and yawns, rubbing his eyes. He takes a few steps.
Cut scene to the breakfast table. There is a plate of eggs already in front of him. He picks at the food.
Boy(whispering): Ugh, eggs on a Monday?
Cut scene to Mother, who looks at him sympathetically from across the kitchen. She walks out of the frame.
Cut scene back to Boy, who is sulking and picking at his plate. Mother places a bowl of Oman’s Oats (The box next to it) on the table. Boy gasps in delight, immediately digging in.
Camera zooms in as he chews his first bite. With an animated ‘Pop’ his head turns into a cartoon camel’s. Boy drops the spoon and continues to eat Oman’s Oats without his hands. The camera zooms out.
Voice Over: Oman’s Oats, for the camel inside you; because everyday is Hump Day.
